We plant where forests have been lost, and stay to help them return.

Why We Plant

Every tree we plant is a promise to the planet

A promise to clean the air, rebuild ecosystems, and bring life back to barren landscapes.

At Vata Foundation, we focus on native species that support biodiversity, survive local conditions, and grow into long-standing natural habitats. But planting is just the beginning. We stay involved, nurturing each sapling through the critical early years so it has a real chance to thrive.

How We Work

01

We plant trees that belong to the land

Not all trees fit every space. We plant species that are native to the region and suited to the soil and weather. Native species like banyan, neem, and peepal support local wildlife and adapt naturally to the soil and climate. This means stronger roots and better survival.

02

We get the land ready before planting

Before we plant, we spend time on the land. Our teams assess the site, prepare the soil, dig trenches, and create a strong foundation for each sapling to grow well.

03

We involve people, not just resources

Our plantation drives are open to everyone. Community members, schoolchildren, local leaders, and corporate teams all come together to plant and protect. When people feel connected, they take care of what they’ve planted.

04

We protect and monitor every sapling

We don’t walk away once the saplings are in the ground. We water, check for pests, add support, and revisit every plantation site regularly. The survival of each tree matters more than the count.

The Impact So Far

Strong collaborations with schools, civic bodies, and organisations like the Indian Navy and L&T.

27,000 + saplings planted and distributed

in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and more.

7,500+ trees moved and saved

through translocation work in sensitive zones like Damagundam Forest.

In Focus: Our Key Plantation Drives

Damagundam Forest, 2025

We worked with the Indian Navy and L&T to move 2,500 fully grown trees and planted another 5,000 saplings in the area. The survival rate is close to 75%. In addition, L&T has pledged to plant 2 lakh more.

Urban Drives in Hyderabad

Through our VATA Saplings initiative, we’ve helped local citizens bring trees back to their neighborhoods. From public parks to schoolyards, these small acts are growing into something powerful.

CSR Involvement: A Call to Companies

CSR plantation activities showing team members working on environmental projects

We invite businesses and organisations to become long-term partners in our plantation work. Tree planting is a natural fit for Corporate Social Responsibility, but to make it meaningful, it takes more than a cheque.

We ask for two things:

We maintain a busy network of forestry and social development staff along with local facilitators in the areas we work.

This includes funding saplings, fencing, soil improvement, care for at least one year, and periodic monitoring.

If your company is looking for a project that brings lasting environmental impact and employee engagement, let's plant something together!
